I am delighted to see that there is a growing number of families wishing to join the school. We are also seeing a number of families switching in from other schools in the city. This is great news and demonstrates the reputation for quality and outcomes that we are maintaining here at BVIS Hanoi.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend ahead.

In their IPC unit We Are What We Eat, Year 1 students explored different foods and used clay to create their favourite meals and snacks. They then developed their descriptive vocabulary by writing about their creations using exciting describing words. The activity encouraged creativity, communication, and confidence in writing, with students showing great enthusiasm throughout.

Year 2 students launched their exciting new IPC topic, Treasure Islands, through a range of engaging pirate-themed activities. Working collaboratively in teams, they took part in role play, treasure hunts, creative design tasks, and vocabulary challenges. The activities developed teamwork, communication, and topic vocabulary while building excitement and curiosity for future learning.

Students showcased incredible creativity, enthusiasm, and teamwork as they brought their learning to life through action and performance. By actively reimagining their lessons, they strengthened collaboration, communication, and confidence while discovering how exciting and engaging learning can be.

In English, Year 4 students explored the model text for their new topic through games, actions, and visual learning activities. They strengthened their understanding of key vocabulary by creating their own illustrations and definitions, helping to build confidence in both comprehension and language development.

Following their sign language lessons, Year 5 student leaders visited Nhân Chính School for the Deaf in Hanoi as part of their Being Human topic. Through team-building activities, meaningful interactions, and a visit to the sewing classroom, students developed greater empathy, kindness, and respect for differences.

Splash Day was filled with excitement as Year 6 students enthusiastically participated in a range of lively water activities. The event encouraged teamwork, resilience, and positive relationships, while giving students the opportunity to celebrate together with energy, laughter, and joy.

Our Year 7 students explored the concept of neutralisation through a fun and engaging “rainbow” practical. By carefully adding acids and alkalis with indicators, they observed a range of colour changes that helped them understand how pH changes during a reaction. It was fantastic to see their curiosity, teamwork, and enthusiasm as they carried out the experiment and connected their observations to scientific concepts.

Our Y8 Scientists have also been learning about light and creating pinhole cameras.

Not all exams are paper based and in a hall! Our Y13 Physicists have been preparing for their A Level Practical examination.

This week in Year 7 students began exploring the exciting world of computer networks and data transmission! They will be learning about the Internet, IP addresses, wired and wireless networks, the World Wide Web, and even the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Y8 girls have been having lots of fun learning the sun salutation sequence and ‘tree pose’. Starting with calming the breath, this helps to calm the mind and focus the attention. All these techniques help to support us in balancing on one leg in tree pose.
The final position, but also the hardest, is Shavasana – resting pose. Without movement we allow the body to absorb the energy created and awaken calm and ready for the rest of the day.

This ECA gives students the opportunity to have fun with friends and learn new games!
